The month of March has brought with it the wonderful season of autumn. The swift winds and cooler temperatures will slowly be preparing us for that ultimate transition into the winter cold. As the leaves start to fall and the days grow shorter, it’s clear that winter is on its way!
With ubusika in sight, experts reckon that autumn is the perfect time to roll up your sleeves and do a seasonal clean of your home because as we all know, the colder months will leave us wanting to spend a lot more time in the warmer indoors – the perfect place for dust and lint to collect during the season.
Here are a few tips on how to prepare your home for winter:
The Clean Up
• Turn over your mattress and wash all of your bedding (including comforters and blankets),
• Get the carpets professionally cleaned,
• Clean the windows inside and out. It’s best to use a damp, warm microfiber towel when doing this, and
• Do a thorough clean out of the fridge to get rid of those forgotten left overs. Bicarbonate of soda is a great product to use to get rid of any bad smells in the fridge.
Prevent Uninvited Guests
Humans aren’t the only ones looking for warmth in the colder months. Bugs and mice need an indawo efudumalayo to stay, too. Autumn is a good time to look for rotted, cracked or damaged wood around the house as these provide the perfect entrance for those unwelcome guests.
