Tips for a Sishebo Your Friends and Family will Love

Mealtimes are one of the most important times for family bonding in any home — and no meal is complete without a mouthwatering sishebo.

Tip 1: The simplest, most delicious taste starts with delicious presentation. Where possible, use colourful, juicy vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots and green beans. These not only add colour, but they provide great flavor and nutrients, too. The lovelier the dish looks, the more irresistible it is to dig into.


Tip 2: Give yourself plenty of time when making a sishebo. When cooking beef or mutton, the last thing you want is to end up with tough and chewy meat. Take your time and let your pot simmer for at least an hour on low heat, making sure to check on it from time to time to avoid it sticking to the bottom.


Tip 3: Although vegetables are a hearty addition, don’t throw them in too soon. Vegetables like potatoes and carrots often soften much faster than meat so it’s best to only add them halfway through the cooking time. Vegetables like broccoli and tomatoes can go in even later.
